Rev. Fr. Ejike Camillus Mbaka hails from Amata Ituku in Awgu Local Government area of Enugu State. He was born in 1957. He grew up in a traditional home, although he discovered his unrestrained love for Christian spirituality in early childhood. His people were mainly palm wine tappers. His father was a dedicated traditionalist.
He attended St. Vincent’s Secondary School. After secondary school, he revealed his decision to be a priest. His father was against it. This didn’t deter him.
He enrolled into seminary school, where priests are trained. He attended Seat of Wisdom Seminary School, Owerri, and St. Joseph’s Seminary School, Ikot-Ekpene. In 1995, he was ordained a Catholic Priest at Holy Ghost Cathedral, Enugu, by late Bishop Michael Eneja.
Shortly after being ordained, he began his prayer ministry. He started at the Holy Ghost Cathedral, Enugu, before he was posted out to other parishes. From Jesus World Prayer Ministry, his ministry metamorphosed into Adoration Ministry, Enugu, Nigeria. At the early stage of his ministry, his ministry was attacked and 14 people killed.
He has moved his ministry to different locations in Enugu as decided by the Catholic Diocese of Enugu. He has stayed in GRA area of Enugu, and then Emene prominently.
While running his ministry, he released songs that became popular among the Igbo. He also sold sacramentals in his ministry’s premises. In addition, he opened a company called “Aqua Rapha.” Aqua Rapha is into the production of yoghurt, bottle water, satchet water, carbonated drinks, and so on. The company employs more than 1000 people, and over 5000 people indirectly.
Rev. Fr. Ejike Camillus Mbaka is a good philanthropist. He pays the school fees of hundreds of indigent students. He has started business for a couple of other poor people. He has also bailed out his Catholic Diocese a couple of times, helping his fellow priests as well.
As a Catholic priest, he is unmarried, having sworn to the oath of mandatory celibacy for Catholic priests.
