Chief Sam Ihionu hails from Akokwa in Ideato North Local Government Area of Imo State. He began his career or business life from a humble background. Starting out in Onitsha as an average trader dealing in plastic.
Like the other Igbo businessmen and entrepreneurs of his set, Chief Ihionu started by learning the act and trade of buying and selling. This is before ge secured his own shop to sell plastic. Little by little, his plastic business and shop grew, and he expanded. From a little plastic shop, he became one of the biggest sellers of plastic at ogboefere in Onitsha.
Seeing that he had grown beyond the shop or trading level, Mr. Ihionu envisaged starting a plastic production company. He started the plastic production company in the early 2000s called Divine Success Plastic. From a few workers, few machines, and few products, his factory and company grew exponentially.
In the third decade of the 21st century, his company now known as Reliable Steel and Plastic Industry has a high production capacity employing over 500 employees. Chief Sam Ihionu also diversified his business by procuring a large expanse of land in Rivers State. He turned this land into a large agricultural and agro-allied site for farming and agro production.
Presently, he runs the two companies simultaneously. His family is heavily involved in the running of the business. His businesses continue to grow and run perfectly.
